LIBRARY COLLECTION ASSETS
The library of the Museum of the Mladá Boleslav Region was established together with museum collections. It currently has about 24,000 volumes. The library’s collection consists of almost 5,000 volumes of manuscripts and old prints from the end of the 15th century to 1800, maps and atlases, shopkeeper’s prints, music, and a collection of regional literature. The regional fund includes not only fiction and professional works by regional authors, but also various publications dealing with the history, economic development and other areas of life in the Mladá Boleslav region. These include, for example, various collections of sports and social organizations, patriotic literature, biographies of important personalities, annual school reports and programs, various yearbooks, almanacs, calendars, exhibition catalogs and directories. It also includes periodicals, which include regional magazines, newspapers and newsletters published since the end of the 19th century.
The Regional Literature Fund can be used by researchers. An extensive study fund is also available to them. It includes various dictionaries, encyclopedias, magazines and newspapers, and books from various disciplines, such as history, archeology, art, ethnography, agriculture, industry, numismatics, the history of religion, and other fields of human activity.
The library does not have permanent research days, if you want to visit it, then by prior telephone arrangement.
