CASTLE MLADÁ BOLESLAV
The permanent exhibitions at Mladá Boleslav Castle are devoted to various topics from regional history. The exhibition The Countryside in the Changes of Time presents the historical and cultural development of the Mladá Boleslav region from the end of the 18th to the beginning of the 20th century. In the exhibition you can, for example, look into the interior of a country house or inn, you will get acquainted with the world of children’s and adult entertainment and you will learn about a number of crafts typical not only of the countryside but also of cities and towns in the region. The permanent offer at Boleslav Castle also includes a long-term exhibition dedicated to the Baroque carving workshop of the Jelínek family from Kosmonosy.
A new long-term exhibition called Enyky, benyky, kliky bé… presents the world of children 150 years ago. You can look into it through a number of objects and on the basis of authentic memories of V. Fr. Rudolf and J. E. Konopas.
MUZEUM OF BEZDĚZ REGION
The permanent exposition entitled Podbezdězí in the Changes of Time is located in the representative premises of the Běl Chateau. The exhibition presents the historical, cultural and natural attractions of the Bělsko and Podbezdězí region. The museum has also exhibited for a long time the original Gothic pieta made around 1400 for the Bělský church of the Exaltation of St. Crisis. Pieta is the only work of art preserved from the original medieval equipment of the church.
A valuable exhibit is the exhibition space of the Běl Museum itself, which is decorated in three halls with Renaissance painted flap ceilings.
MUZEUM OF BENÁTKY REGION
SThe permanent exhibitions of the Venetian Museum are dedicated to the historical development of the region, nature and important local personalities. You can visit the exposition Nature of Venice, Prehistoric and Medieval Astronomy, as well as the Lords of Dražice, Tycho Brahe and Venice, Jan of Werth – General of the Thirty Years’ War, the Bendů Family Memorial Hall and the Bedřich Smetana Memorial Hall.
PARSONAGE DOLNÍ KRUPÁ
The timbered rectory in Dolní Krupá, built in 1785, offers uniquely preserved interiors and you can also see occasional exhibitions here. The most recent exhibition about extinct villages around Ralsko. We are currently preparing an exhibition at the parish dedicated to the history of the village and some chapters from its modern history.
The parish is accessible only in the summer months, by telephone appointment.
The museum’s expositions are dedicated to the history of aviation. The museum’s collection contains more than 25 aircraft – originals and replicas from the pioneering days of aviation to the present. The main attractions of the exhibition undoubtedly include a flying replica of the plane of Metěj Vlach, a designer and aviator, who built the first Czech aircraft powered by a car engine in Mladá Boleslav in 1912 and took off on it himself. In the museum you will also find the famous Polikarpov Po-2, a Russian flying original from 1937.
